Politics of the Outre-Mer
To preface this: while I am a French citizen and have family in the Outre-Mer, we are all white and as such don't have any claim to true understanding of the dynamics at play. Please check out local authors! This is my blog though and with my degree in political science and interest in decolonial movements I thought it would be worth giving a quick run-through. I will try to use the local terms for each territory instead of the French term, although I will provide the name at the head of each section to save confusion for unfamiliar readers.
